Community Outreach Services
PCHS provides outreach services to
businesses and community organizations, which help to foster a strong
network of safety net providers throughout the county. Complete with its own
Speaker's Bureau, volunteers and staff, PCHS is present at various h ealth-related events
throughout the year in an effort to further promote its services to
those who need it most.
In addition, PCHS provides support for
other community agencies through in-kind donations (when
available) and volunteer
and staff support. In 2008, PCHS staff participated in the annual March
of Dimes Walk for Babies (formerly WalkAmerica) to raise money to support research for premature
babies. Sporting bright yellow t-shirts and dominating the Kitsap County
walk, PCHS had one of the largest walking teams of any health care agency in
Washington State with more than 100 walkers. In 2006, PCHS assembled
children's bicycles during its annual all-staff meeting and donated them
to Kitsap Community Resources.
PCHS also hosts an annual oral health
fair - Smile Rescuers - during
Bremerton's Armed Forces Day Parade. The Care to
Jazz Festival
is the organization's annual signature fundraiser held in July.
